Everyone has an ideal version of themselves—the one who wakes up early without struggle, stays productive all day, and never procrastinates. Yet in reality, we often feel like we fall short of that version. We wake up with guilt, feel left behind, and believe that we are not “enough”.
Amid those thoughts, we make a cup of coffee. But in the rush of trying to become a better version of ourselves, we often forget something simple: coffee never demands us to change.
Coffee does not care whether we are successful or struggling. It does not judge whether we are productive or unmotivated today. It remains the same—warm, calm, and present. Perhaps that is why coffee feels so comforting. In a world that constantly pressures us to be “more”, coffee simply accepts us as we are, without conditions.
Sometimes, we focus so much on improving ourselves that we forget to appreciate who we are right now. Yet the version of ourselves today is also worthy of appreciation—with all its imperfections and ongoing process.
Perhaps growth is not always about moving faster, but about becoming more aware. And this is where coffee plays a small yet meaningful role. It reminds us to pause, to sit, and to breathe.
Not to chase who we are supposed to be, but to accept who we are today.
